Localized Wave Packets in the Quantum
Kicked Harmonic Oscillator

Subsequent to the introduction into phenomenology and theory of ANDERSON localization and the kicked rotor in the preceding section, I now return to the quantum kicked harmonic oscillator. Complementary to the discussion in chapter 4, in the following sections 5.2 and 5.3 I consider the case of nonresonant values of $T$. Using the numerical techniques described in chapter 3
I demonstrate in section 5.2 that quantum mechanical suppression of classical diffusion is abundant in this model system as well. These findings are then explained analytically in section 5.3.
